Afternoon tea

Whilst curtain shopping yesterday, H2B, future mother in law and I found ourselves having afternoon tea at our local garden centre.

The tea rooms decor was very relaxing and fresh, with a grand piano playing in the centre of the room. There is outdoor seating, although it was a lovely day, it was very windy so we opted to stay indoors.

Included was four little finger sandwiches, triangles with the crusts cut off (THE BEST KIND!!!) including smoked salmon and cream cheese, ham and egg mayonnaise.  Salmon being a particular favourite for H2B.

Next, of course, the traditional scone, jam and clotted cream followed by a selection of little pâtisseries, which I attempted one of, but we were so full, we couldn't eat the rest!

Future MIL and myself had good old breakfast tea.  Whilst H2B decided to be a little more adventurous  and went for Earl Grey sans milk (when I say adventurous, don't worry, I mean with the tea, we will try any food, we aren't the type to only eat English food, in fact I don't know how people who do this cope?! ....anyway...) leaving him eager to try more different teas, using leaf and teapot, rather than traditional bag.

The original deal is afternoon tea for two for £9.99, though with there being three of us, naturally it was £14.99 and worth every penny, they even gave us a little cake box to take what was left home with us.  I strongly recommend if you are local to a Dobbies garden centre with a tea rooms, you visit as soon as possible!!

Below is a very unflattering photo of myself taken by H2B....
